The MBKM Foundation which has instituted the awards aims at building a Humane and Inclusive Society
Registered as a not-for-profit organisation, the MBKM Foundation is a voluntary organisation for social work. The people behind this voluntary organisation are a group of senior bureaucrats, technocrats and professionals who feel that they must pay back to the society, which gave them so much by way of social, professional, and economic status in their working life. The Foundation is committed to changing lives through education, healthcare, environment, and sustainable development. the Foundation believes that true progress begins when every individual gains access to basic rights, opportunities, and dignity. Its vision is of an equitable India where no hands are without work, no student is denied education, and nocommunity is left behind.

Key Components of Activity
Communication and Awareness
Recognizing the power of communication as an instrument of social change, the Foundation operates the Media Map News Network—a platform for responsible, research-based journalism. Media Map champions integrity, accuracy, and balanced reporting at a time when media is often dominated by sensationalism. It seeks to create awareness, inspire informed debate, and strengthen democracy by serving as a people’s media—independent of political or corporate influence. Its editorial philosophy values truth and clarity, positioning journalism as both a mirror to society and a catalyst for nation-building.
The School of Inclusive Management Studies (SIMS)
The School of Inclusive Management Studies (SIMS) represents the Foundation’s commitment to redefining management education. Unlike conventional business schools that focus narrowly on profit-making, SIMS integrates ethics, empathy, and social responsibility into its curriculum. Its goal is to produce professionals who can blend creativity, innovation, and sustainability to address real-world challenges. SIMS promotes holistic learning that links management with democracy, culture, and human connection. The institution emphasizes research in sustainable development, ethical business, and the impact of digital transformation on society. Future plans include innovation labs, start-up incubators, and specialized programs in AI and global communication.
Health and Environment
MBKM’s health initiatives focus on awareness campaigns, hygiene education, and low-cost healthcare through alternative systems of medicine for weaker sections. In the field of environment, the Foundation promotes clean energy, tree plantation, waste management, and climate action, aligning its efforts with India’s sustainable development goals.
Leadership and Support
The Foundation has been conceived by and is chaired by Prof. Pradeep Mathur, a distinguished academician, journalist, and liberal thinker. As Chairman, he envisions MBKM as a bridge between upper middle class of competent professionals and bureaucrats and the disadvantaged sections of society who are making efforts to come up in socio-economic ladder and avail themselves of opportunities the new economy has created. Patron R.S. Atroley and a strong executive team support the Foundation’s activities. It comprises Vice-Chairmen Advocate Chandra Kumar and Anil Jauhri, General Secretary Rajeev Mathur, Secretary Dr Muzzafar Gazali and Joint Secretary Jagdish Gautam.
The Foundation also enjoys guidance and contributions from eminent personalities such as Subodh Kant Sahay, Sunil Shastri, Dr. Yogendra Narayan, Prof. Lallan Prasad, Dr. Salim Khan , Gopal Misra, Advocate Sanjay Mathur , Prof. Shivaji Sarkar, Dr Satish Misra , Dr H.S. Saharia ,Dr. Salim Engineer and several other public leaders, academics, and journalists committed to the cause of uplifting the weaker sections of our society.
